BERA/BNL Fishing Club Fishing Trip with the Celtic Quest May 2026
Our First BERA Event! A great time was had by all! The fishing was a bit slow, the bite was a bit soft, but everyone who joined us ground it out and most went home with something to eat. The water was a bit cold to really get the Porgy mayhem going, with the first spot yielding the pot winning fish at around 2.5lbs and the final spot picking up the action where the most fish were caught. We also saw some small out of season Tautog come over the rail and some sea robin (all safely released).
BNL Fishing Club Meet-up October 2025
The international signal for no fish caught (the fisherman and the sunrise photo) made its appearance at our inaugural fishing meet-up at Robert Moses Field 5 in late October 2025. A small group of us with night fishing permits met up just before sunrise to scout out the area and come up empty. As the sun came up, others joined us on the beach for a beautiful, fish-less morning. The star of the show were some fresh bagels and lukewarm coffee had after the fact.
