Covid-19 Restrictions Including Masks and Social Distancing are Required When Using the Lab’s Gymnasium and Weight Room Facilities

As a result of the current high transmission rate of COVID-19 in Suffolk County, face coverings and social distancing of 6 feet are required when using the Lab’s gymnasium and weight room. Every other machine is removed from service to help maintain social distancing. Please do not partake in weightlifting activity if a spotter is needed.  Masks and 6’ distancing are required.

A required web-based training video will be necessary before anyone’s badge is activated for entry into the Weight Room.  (https://training.bnl.gov/Portal/TQ-FITNESS). 

HOURS

DAY:  Monday –  Friday 7am-2pm for weight room and gym activities.

EVENING:  Monday – Thurs adding 4:30-8pm for weight room and gym activities. (Facilities are closed from 2pm-4:30pm)

FREE Orientation!    In-person Weight Room orientation and assistance will be available for all Weight Room members on May 10 & 19 from 5:30-7:30pm in the Weight Room, Bldg. 461.   Annemarie will be on hand to assist with a workout routine, safely using machines, and how to get the most out of your workout! The charge will be $20 for the balance of the year and must be paid in cash or personal check. If you paid in 2020, there is no charge.

Note: The BERA Store will accept membership payment and information when the store is open, as noted on the home page.

Retirees are welcome to come to the Weight Room if they register with the BERA Store, which is open Tues-Thurs from 11am-2pm, and the membership is free of charge.Retirees are permitted to use the Weight Room from 10am-11:30am only at this time.
