| Swimming Pool (Bldg. 478) |
| The pool is available to BNL employees and their families. There are open swim, lap swim and other programs offered Monday thru Saturday. You may purchase an individual or family pool pass at the pool. Friday evening is Family Swim from 5:00pm-8:00pm for $5.00 per family. Swimming lessons are available for children and are scheduled during the summer. Adult swim lessons are generally scheduled for March – April. | Gymnasium (Bldg. 461) |
| The gym is open Monday – Friday from 7-9:00am and 11:00am-9:00pm and Saturday 10:00am-2:00pm (closed Saturdays between Memorial Day thru Labor Day) for BERA sponsored activities. The gym is available for activities such as volleyball, and basketball games. Some areas are reserved for use by organized BERA league teams. See Gym Activity Schedule. | Weight Room (Bldg. 461) |
| Located in the back of the gymnasium. The hours are Monday – Friday 7-9am and 11:00am-9:00pm and Saturday 10:00am-2:00pm. The Weight Room is a club and for members only. The annual fee is $30. We have a fitness trainer available twice a month, to discuss gym equipment and safety orientation. To join the weight room come to the Recreation Office |
| Recreation Hall (Bldg. 317) |
| Located in the apartment area and is home to several BERA Clubs, ESOL classroom, Hospitality Coffee & Playgroup as well as BERA Recreation Program Applications & Camp, and a variety of fitness classes. Reservations for employee group parties can be made by calling the Recreation Office at 631-344-2873. If needed: Permission to Serve Alcohol Form NOTE: The Rec Hall is not open evenings except for scheduled events or reservations. |
| Recreation Park & Gazebo |
| The Park is located at the east end of Brookhaven Avenue. It features athletic fields for softball and soccer, an archery range, volleyball courts and picnic areas. There is a covered gazebo and barbeque grills for use. Playground equipment is located at the fields for children. If you wish to reserve the Gazebo, please contact the Recreation Office at 631-344-2873. |
| Tennis Courts |
| There are outdoor tennis courts on Bell Avenue available for your use. Reservations are needed for prime time: 11:30am to 2:00pm and 4:30 to 7:00pm. Reservations may be made by Lab employees only, including those with visiting and guest appointments and BNL retirees. For more information call 344-5139 or 344-2147. |
