Welcome to SWIS!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supporting Women in STEM (SWIS) is a Brookhaven Employee Recreation Association (BERA) club at Brookhaven National Lab. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our goals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The goals of the club are to: (1) provide a safe and welcoming community that celebrates careers that support the mission of the Lab, (2) encourage women’s pursuit and retention in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers, and (3) provide members with professional development and outreach opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What we do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the year, SWIS hosts events, such as talks (see below for links to past talks!), networking, and workshops. We strive to provide an open and engaging forum for the exchange of scientific, technical, and professional information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SWIS advocates for policies and practices that enhance the quality of life for Lab employees and guests and provides leadership and outreach opportunities in support of its mission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to join<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SWIS has no membership fees and is open to all Lab employees, students, and badged guests. You do not have to have a career in STEM to join SWIS, just a desire to support our mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you join SWIS, we\u2019ll add you to an Outlook distribution list, so stay tuned for announcements and updates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
